Atmospheric Sciences and Air Quality Conference (ASAAQ2005)
The NOAA EPA Golden Jubilee

27-29 April 2005, San Francisco, California, USA

Date and Location
The 9th Atmospheric Sciences and Air Quality Conference (ASAAQ2005) will be held on 27-29 April 2005 at the Cathedral Hill Hotel, in downtown San Francisco, California, US.

Program
The Conference has had a traditional focus on (but is not limited to) the broad theme of Pacific-Rim Air Quality Issues. The last three ASAAQ Conferences were held in Beijing (1998), Taipei (2000), and Tsukuba (2003). ASAAQ2005 will cover all aspects of the observation, analysis, and simulation of air quality on all scales (from urban to global), including emissions, transport, diffusion, chemistry, removal processes, impacts, and air quality management. It will be organized around the following foci:

Daily cross-cutting quarter-day plenary sessions are planned. Remaining papers will be presented in half-day sessions on each of foci, each with an invited 30-minute review presentation. Posters will be available for viewing during the entire conference, along with dedicated viewing sessions. All conference sessions will be held on the Mezzanine Level in the Cathedral Hill Hotel. Please visit our web site www.ametsoc.org for updates on the program, special events, and registration. The next update will be around 1 December 2004.

Submission of Abstracts
Abstracts are to be submitted electronically and will be available on-line via the Web. Instructions for preparation of abstracts and manuscripts are posted on the Web Site. Please visit www.ametsoc.org and click on the Meeting Information tab. Go to Submission of Abstracts and the listing for AASQ2005. Follow the instructions.

22 January 2005 is the deadline for abstract submission. A $60 abstract charge will be used to defray the cost of Web posting.

Authors will be notified of acceptance by 15 February 2005. All accepted abstracts will be available on-line via the AMS Web page. It is hoped to also arrange for a dedicated issue of accepted papers in an international peer-reviewed journal.

Presentation Fees
An optional presentation fee of $50 will be charged for any speaker who desires to have their presentation recorded (voice over their Powerpoint presentation) and posted to the AMS Web Site for viewing by others after the conclusion of ASAAQ2005.

Registration Fees
Exact registration fees have not been established. For your planning purposes, we expect that they will be in the range of $300 for early registration and $340 on site. Students will be eligible for a reduced registration fee. Final fees will be set after 22 January 2005.
