The 26th ITM will be held in Istanbul, Turkey from 26–30 May 2003.
ABOUT ISTANBUL AND ITS SURROUNDINGS
Istanbul is the only city in the world built on two continents. It stands on the shores of the uniquely beautiful Bosphorus. Istanbul has been the centre of attention for centuries. Each civilization has reined the city (Roman, Byzantium, and Ottoman). Istanbul’s history lies back to 13th century B.C. Its actual history starts with the founding of Byzantium in the 7th century.
CONFERENCE LOCATION
Opening ceremony and first day program will be held in Suleyman Demirel Cultural Center at Istanbul Technical University Maslak Campus. Second and following days of the conference program will be held in Surmeli Hotel at Istanbul.

A block of 100 rooms has been reserved in Surmeli Hotel ***** with very special prices for this conference:

KEY TOPICS
- Role of Atmospheric Models in Air Pollution Policy and Abatement Strategies (air quality, risk assessment, emergency responses).
- Integrated Regional Modelling (local and urban effects, mesoscale phenomena, regional modelling, one and two way nesting, application of existing models).
- Global and Long-Range Transport (synoptic, hemispheric & global scales, application of existing models).
- Aerosols as Atmospheric Contaminants (human exposure and health effects, direct and indirect climate effects, visibility reduction).
- New Developments (microscale to global scale, new models, new extensions to existing models, inverse modelling, data assimilation).
- Model Assessment and Verification (model assessment, design of field experiments, use of on-site meteorological data, limits to predictability).
The meeting will consist mainly of oral presentations but posters are also accepted. Intention to offer a presentation or poster must be received by Carlos Borrego, Aveiro, together with an abstract (with a maximum of 300 words) containing essential information and designation of key topic NO LATER THAN 1st September 2002.

The conference fee of 340 USD covers:
