EURASAP Workshop on "Meteorological Pre Processing for Complex Terrain - Upscaling " 12-14 June 2000 and COST 715 Workshop on "Preparation of Meteorological Input Data for Urban Site Studies " 15 June 2000

EURASAP Workshop on "Meteorological Pre Processing for Complex Terrain - Upscaling " 12-14 June 2000: The main aim of this workshop is to present and discuss the methods of obtaining the high-resolution fields of meteorological elements (wind field, temperature field, stability field etc.) that can be used in air-pollution models. In many areas only limited number of meteorological measurement sites are available or, more frequently, there is no measurement available. In areas with complex terrain where the terrain effects on wind field pattern is important, for example, some different approach have to be chosen in order that reliable meteorological data for air-quality models were available. How to treat this problem is the main aim of this workshop.

There is a total fee 100 pound (GBP) (without workshop dinner 88 pound, if accompanied by spouse - one more workshop dinner 12 pound) for the firstly mentioned EURASAP Workshop and each participant will pay accommodation (single 74 DM per night and double 99 DM per night incl. breakfast). The second COST Workshop is without fee and the prices for accommodation are those as mentioned. Details are available from Josef Brechler see below. Information can be found on the following workshop home pages:

Both meetings will take part in the same hotel called Krystal.

The COST Workshop organised by Working Group 4 of COST 715 'Meteorology applied to Urban Air Pollution Problems' is open. Please contact Dr Josef Brechler.
